Classes — January 2023

Online Course Catalog
Next semester's catalog is now available. To open it, click on the link, "January 2023 Catalog" in the banner above.

As usual, this semester's course subjects range from A-to-Z, or literally from "Acrylic Painting" to "Zumba..." A webpage, described below, provides an easy method for you to get an overview of this wide range of subjects.

Off-campus classes begin on Monday the 16th, but not at UWF that will be closed for Martin Luther King Day. Unless noted otherwise in the online catalog, classes meet for eight consecutive weeks.

Sometimes there are necessary last-minute changes to the course information. Rather than searching for changes in the online catalog itself, you will find it easier to look in the Course Updates/Status webpage for any changes.

"Quick Look" Webpage
For your convenience, you can now view the titles and class-start times of all the upcoming classes in one location. Just open: “Quick Look Jan23 Classes”.

A "search" feature built into recent browsers will allow you to locate any keywords contained in any webpage.
For the Quick Look page, keyword examples include dance, exercise, painting, photo, pickleball, yoga, etc.
This search feature is very useful for the Online catalog webpage to find start times, or specific classrooms, or the class leader for a particular course, etc.

For any webpage, use these steps:
• On a PC, press the keys Control+F together to open a search box near the top of the screen.
• Type in a keyword or short phrase and press the Enter key.
• If your input is found, the browser will highlight all occurences of the keyword everywhere in the webpage.
• The number on the right of the search box is the number of matching keywords that were found.

What is the CLL (Center for Life Long Learning )?

Established in 1993 on the University of West Florida campus in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, the CLL provides interesting and stimulating educational activities for persons who believe that learning never ends. In addition to educational classes, the CLL organizes other activities that include local social events and occasional out-of-town trips.

Our organization is a Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) and we are affiliated with the Road Scholar. There are more than 400 similar LLIs across the country.

Unlike most LLIs, the CLL has no paid staff; all our class leaders are volunteers who have acquired their expertise through their lifelong career experiences or favorite hobbies.
In 2004, our organization was incorporated as a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt charity.

Paying an enrollment fee of $60 establishes a CLL membership. This entitles members to enroll in up to four CLL classes. Enrolling in additional classes beyond four costs $10 each.
Important Notice: Due to issues with the provider of our Registration software, our usual discount structure is not working. (Normally: $60 Basic Membership Fee gives you your first 4 courses for free). We are sorry for the inconvenience. To make the system work at all for January 2023—and to keep registration affordable—we have temporarily adjusted the membership cost to $52 and added a cost of $2 for each course. This will make a typical enrollee pay about the same, or less than, the usual.

Some classes may have an additional fee for classroom materials.
