Founded in 1993, the Center for Lifelong Learning, also known as CLL, offers a wide variety of engaging educational opportunities for people who embrace an endless desire to always learn. We are hosted in partnership with the University of West Florida Emerald Coast Campus, located in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
CLL is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is all-volunteer from the teachers, staff, and even the Board of Directors. Membership and course fees go only to operating expenses, scholarships and charities. CLL is also a member of the Road Scholar Institute Network.
With a commitment to the belief that learning is a continuous process, CLL strives to create an environment that stimulates intellectual curiosity and encourages personal growth. By fostering a sense of community and offering diverse learning experiences, CLL fosters a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere that appeals to individuals seeking new skills and social engagement.

What We Do
We offer two 8-week sessions each year, one in the Fall (Sep - Nov) and one in the Winter (Jan - Mar). Most classes are eight weeks long and meet once per week. The course and schedule details along with the meeting length are included in our online course catalog.
In addition, we offer several single-day tours of interesting places and exciting experiences in the local area. These are led by subject matter experts and give people an opportunity to see and try something wonderful our community has to offer.
From art and cooking to technology and personal development, there’s something for everyone. Additionally, the center organizes informative tours that allow participants to explore new places while gaining valuable insights. By creating an inviting atmosphere, the Center for Lifelong Learning encourages community engagement and personal growth, ensuring that knowledge and exploration are lifelong pursuits.
Whether you’re looking to expand your horizons or meet new friends, this institution is a gateway to an enriching experience.

Our Commitment
CLL is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to serving the community. We operate with a completely all-volunteer staff -- from teachers and curriculum developers to administrators and technology -- we love to provide this opportunity to our community. Every year, we provide scholarships to students at University of West Florida. These scholarships are funded through the class registration fees and generous donations from individuals and organizations. By offering financial support, CLL aims to make education more accessible and affordable for deserving students. The organization understands the importance of empowering the next generation through education. CLL is proud to be making a positive impact and changing lives, both young and old, for the better.
